SANTIAGO CHAVEZ has been recognized by the Governor of New Mexico and the Ambassador from Spain for his rugged, primitive and individualistic visions of west and southwest landscapes and portraits. Reminiscent of the old west painters in the 1800s, Santiago captures depth and light without using a brush. His palette knife works are masculine, detailed expressions of the passion that emanates from deep within him. Sometimes impressionistic, other times primitive and simple, his work creates a connection that draws you back time and again to reflect, examine and feel.
